Where are my thoughts today?

Purpose

We all feel it within our souls, often without even knowing it — but we all need a purpose.

How does that purpose evolve? Is it from past trauma, past relationships? From feeling like we’ve never been good enough, or from being mistreated? Do we look for someone or something to make us feel proud, whole, or happy?

The answer is probably yes.

When we finally find that person or thing we’ve been searching for, does it give us purpose? Again, the answer is probably yes. But then comes another question: does that purpose make sense?

It does — but only when there’s also a purpose within yourself.

Do you feel good enough? Am I pretty enough? Am I a good person? The list can go on forever. Until you search within your soul and dig deep to accept all the things you want or feel you need, your purpose will never feel truly fulfilled.

We can all blame a past trauma, a person, or a situation as a reason to stay stuck in self-sabotage. But overcoming that inner battle is the true purpose. It means conquering our deepest thoughts and fears. It means silencing the voice in our heads that stalls us from our goals, our ambitions, and our sense of achievement.

Once we begin to accept ourselves, we start to feel proud — proud of how far we’ve come, proud of how much we mean to others, proud that we can overcome our fears. That’s when our purpose becomes apparent.

When we learn that our biggest critic is ourselves, and we take a step back to truly look within — when we start believing, loving, liking, and trusting our inner person — our purpose begins to feel deeper and more connected.

Don’t get me wrong — we all need truly special people in our lives to help us along the journey. But the one person who can truly make or break you is yourself.

So each day, take small steps. Look back on your achievements and feel proud. Look back on how far you’ve come — and feel proud. Look back at you — and feel proud.
